Heart Wedding Cake

In celebration of Valentine’s Day, here is a heart cake we did for a wedding reception at Presidente Banquet Hall in Concord. The entire cake was an allergy sensitive, vegan, mango coconut cake covered in a thin layer of fondant and accented with little red hearts made from eggless royal icing.

Fall Wedding Cake

Inspired by a design by Collette Foley from InStyle Wedding Magazine, this fall wedding cake was covered in a dusky ivory fondant and accented with ferns, oak leaves, acorns, berries and flowers all made out of sugar. The reception was held at the beautiful Royal Ashburn Golf Club in Ashburn/Whitby. The flavours of this 3 tier wedding cake were banana chocolate chip cake filled with chocolate ganache, vanilla bean cake layered with fresh strawberries and vanilla buttercream and mocha cake with caramel filling.

Sports Birthday Cake

To create a 60th Birthday Cake for the ultimate sports fan we drew inspiration from his two favourite sports; baseball and hockey, and covered the cake in fondant in his favourite colour; blue. Among the handmade edible toppers are baseballs, bats, helmets and a baseball glove, a hockey jersey, pucks and a hockey stick, and a trophy for the champ! We replicated the logos from a few of his favourite hockey teams; the Philadelphia Flyers, the Boston Bruins and the Montreal Canadiens, to create edible decals in sugar. The cake was wrapped with a baseball inspired ribbon. This carrot cake is particularly special with the addition of coconut, pineapple and pecans, which are the main ingredients in our hummingbird cake.
