Pink and Brown 1st Birthday Cake

Book and ball were this sweet little girl’s first words and they (and the colours from the dress she wore to her party) were used as the inspiration for her 1st birthday cake. This banana nut chocolate chip cake filled with nutella buttercream was covered with a soft brown fondant accented with white and pink dots and circles. On top of the cake is a small fondant book with an edible image of the little girl and a verse written by her parents. Also on top is a large white chocolate “A” and three little pink basketballs and a number “1″. The cupcakes are topped with pink basketballs and tennis balls and pink initials. Flavours include chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream, lemon coconut cake with vanilla buttercream and red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting.

Christening Cake

Inspired by a children’s cake created by Design Cakes, this 2 tier square cake was created to be part of a baby boy’s christening party. The monkey, giraffe and elephant figurines as well as the blocks are made out of modeling chocolate and fondant. The cake is covered with light blue fondant and accented with polka dots and stripes in dark blue, green and brown. Flavours include lemon raspberry cake with vanilla buttercream and chocolate cake with dulce de leche buttercream.

Baptism Cake

Inspired by the invitation and designed by the Godmother, this cake combines fondant polka dots, sugar butterflies and a fondant cross to create an elegant and pretty Baptism cake for a little girl. Both tiers are dark chocolate cake filled with a strawberry and raspberry buttercream combination.

Polka Dot Confirmation Cake

This lime green polka dot confirmation cake has little crosses impressed into the white fondant polka dots that are scattered among the dots of purple and lilac. White chocolate letters coloured a bright purples and a ribbon bow finishes off the design. This 10″ square was a chocolate cake filled with fresh raspberries and vanilla buttercream.

Chocolate Baby Shower Cake

The scroll designs on the pink dots on this chocolate covered baby shower cake were created using a stamp from the local craft store. Wanting a light dessert,  lemon raspberry cake and raspberry buttercream were chosen for both tiers.
