This Mini 3 Tier Wedding Cake travelled all the way to Ottawa for a winter wedding. It’s perfect for a smaller guest list while still maintaining that big wedding cake look. Each tier of this cake borrows from 3 separate cake designs. The different designs are tied together by the use of pearls accents on each tier, in the brooch and around the base of each tier. The entire cake is covered in off-white fondant with the accents ‘pearlized’ (dusted with pearl dust) and the bride’s silver wedding dress inspired the use of silver ribbon. The extra-large cake board and gathered fabric look of the fondant on the board creates more presence for this mini wedding cake.
The top tier of this cake features 3D sugar-flowers and leaves with vines piped on and accented with pearls. It was inspired by a cookie design that the couple found in a wedding cake magazine. On the top of this tier the initials of the bride and groom were piped on. The middle tier was done in a classic quilted pattern and the base tier was done in an equally classic Damask pattern.

Base Tier – 8 inch round Chocolate Cake with Semi-sweet Chocolate Buttercream and a middle layer of Snickers (chocolate bar) Chunks
